Bartlesville Tennis Association kicking off the 2018 tennis season with a mixer April 14 at the Johnstone courts

4/7/2018

Calling all tennis players in the Bartlesville area!

Mark your calendars for next Saturday, April 14, because Bartlesville Tennis Association is kicking off the 2018 tennis season with a mixer at the Johnstone courts.

Gather in between 9 a.m. and noon for light snacks and lots of tennis. This will be a good time to dust off your racket, limber up your muscles, and get in some practice before the BTA doubles league starts the following Thursday, April 19.

You can also bring your BTA dues--$15 per person or $20 per family, if you haven’t already paid for this year.

The BTA Spring Doubles League starts Thursday April 19th, all the spots have been filled but we can always use subs if anyone is interested.

BTA held its 2018 annual meeting

3/6/2018

BTA held its annual meeting March 5 at Hideaway Pizza to elect 2018 officers and approve changes to the BTA By-laws.

Members attending the meeting re-elected the following officers: Bob Gaut, president; Christy Hall, treasurer; Jon Morgan, league director; Keith Naylor and Charles Moll, co-secretaries; Valerie Geerts, education/junior tennis director; and Steve Byrd , physical properties manager.

By-law changes included reducing number and terms of board members in order to comply with current practices. Notification of members was also changed to include website and email notification, rather than printed newsletters and directories.

A mixer is planned for April 14, with spring league play scheduled to begin April 19. More information about these events will be posted on the BTA website.

BTA is open to all area tennis players. Membership dues are $15 per person or $20 per family.

Jeff Birk, BHS tennis coach

1/10/2017

Work to rebuild the BHS tennis courts has begun, and we expect the courts to be unavailable for play until early-to-mid April.  As a result, the BHS team needs somewhere else to practice.

We intend to practice at Hillcrest on Mondays, and we would like to practice at Johnstone Park Tuesdays through Fridays, from 2:45 to 4:45 pm.

While I realize we cannot reserve Johnstone's courts for exclusive use by BHS during these times, would you please spread the word to the BTA that BHS would like to use the courts in this manner?
